I joined GSHA-Utah chapter in January of 2019 with the interest of documenting my family’s genealogy. My mother was from Northern New Mexico, while my father was from Michoacan, Mexico.

I was born in Vallecitos, New Mexico, which is located in Northern New Mexico. I was born in the same town as my mother. A cousin of mine says I was the last of seven generations born in Vallecitos. My aim is to see if I can find out who they are. Currently I have found records on five generations, and I have just started.

The information I have gathered from GSHA members and presenters at GSHA monthly meetings have been of great help to me. I have been able to learn the history and the culture of my New Mexico side.
